Sun Flare Soap Bar

This month we are participating in The Great Cakes Soapworks Soap Challenge Club (say that 5 times fast!) you might remember we’ve done this before several years ago. We are ready to get more creative with our soaps and learn new techniques. The Soap Challenge Club is a fun way to do it!

This months challenge is the Fluid Acrylic Pour technique

This is what the final bar looks like:

The soap bar is colored with kaolin clay, yellow Brazilian clay and activated charcoal. It is scented with lemon, lavender and rosemary essential oils

This was a new technique and we had some fun with it!

We started with a gray base layer and added circles of the three colors

Using a straw we blew air over the circles to move the colors across the gray layer

The gray layer set up quicker than we wanted but it added interesting layers to the final cut soap

This is how the soap looked when it was still wet
